Jorg Apitzsch,
Chief Technology Officer, Bos KG
Jorg Apitzsch is Chief Technology Officer for Bos KG and has extensive experience in Distributed System Architectures, Information security concepts and technologies, eSignatures, eIdentity and eTransport, Interoperability and standardisation and specification.
In his current post he has been the System Architect and project leader for the Federal Virtual Post Office, involved with standardization for secure internet communication and eSignatures, co-author and editor for the German e-Government communication Standard OSCI and engaged in the Large Scale Pilots PEPPOL and SPOCS.
Previous projects have included large-scale implementation projects in public health, system architecture for NATO Panavia Procurement System DASA (EADS) and conception and realization of the bos product “Governikus” based on OSCI, Java / J2EE and XML.

John Borras, Operations Manager, Pensive S.A. and Chairman of the Board of Directors
John Borras has spent the majority of his career working on the development of ICT systems, policies, strategies and procedures for central and local government in the United Kingdom. He took early retirement from the Civil Service in 2006 after 38 years service and has since been a self-employed consultant. He has an extensive knowledge of a wide range of issues relating to e-government and e-voting both at the business, information and technical levels.
John worked in the Office of e-Envoy (and subsequently the Cabinet Office’s e-Government Unit) where he was the Director of Technology, responsible for the UK’s e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) and other e-government and e-voting technical policies and standards.
He has represented the UK government on various international working groups, developing e-government and e-voting strategies, data interchange procedures and standards, and enterprise architectures.
He is a past Director of OASIS and is the current chair of the OASIS eGov Member Section and the OASIS Technical Committee on e-voting standards. He has previously chaired the committee on e-government standards.
John is currently Operations Manager of Pensive and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

David Birch,
Director,
Consult Hyperion.
David G.W. Birch is a Director of Consult Hyperion, the IT management consultancy that specialises in electronic transactions, where he provides specialist consultancy support to clients around the world. Before helping to found Consult Hyperion in 1986, he spent several years working as a consultant in Europe, the Far East and North America. He graduated from the University of Southampton with a B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics.
Described by The Independent newspaper as a "grade-A geek", by the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation as "one of the most user-friendly of the UK's uber-techies" and by Financial World magazine as "mad", Dave is the chair of the Digital Money Forum and the Visa Europe Research Fellow in Payments Innovation.
He has lectured to MBA level on the impact of new information and communications technologies, contributed to publications ranging from the Parliamentary IT Review to Grocery Trader and wrote more than 100 Second Sight columns for The Guardian. He is a member of the editorial board of the E-Finance & Payments Law and Policy Journal, a columnist for SPEED, a media commentator on electronic business issues and has appeared on BBC television and radio, Sky and other channels around the world.

John Bradley, CSO, ooTao Inc.
John is the CSO at ooTao Inc. He serves on the OASIS XRI, XDI, and ORMS Technical Committees. He is a member and participant in the OpenID Foundation, and the InfoCard Foundation/OSIS as a proposer and contributor to the PAPE and openID InfoCard specs. As co-founder, SVP and chief scientist at Group Telecom, John designed and implemented some of the first-ever metropolitan fibre optic networks to deliver gigabit Ethernet services – network models that have since been replicated all over the world. He also helped turn GT into Canada’s most successful CLEC – with 400,000kms of fibre, 1500 employees and a quarter-billion-dollar revenue run rate. He provided design and consulting services for Westel and helped develop Cyberstore Systems into one of the first commercial Internet service providers in British Columbia.

Tim Brown, VP and Chief Architect for Security Management, CA, Inc.
Tim Brown is the VP and Chief Architect for Security Management at CA. He has overall technical direction and oversight responsibilities for the CA security products. This includes Identity Management, Server Security, Data Leakage Protection, Web Access management and SSO. With over 20 years of information security expertise, Brown has been involved in many areas of security including compliance, threat research, vulnerability management, consumer and enterprise identity and access management, network security, encryption and managed security services. In his career, Brown has worked with many companies and government agencies to implement sound and practical security policies and solutions.
Prior to joining CA he spent 12 years at Symantec where in the CTO office he was responsible for companywide technical architecture, integration, gap analysis and technical strategy. Prior to joining the Symantec CTO office Brown focused on Symantec’s enterprise security architecture and the collection, correlation and prioritization of security data. Brown joined Symantec through the company’s acquisition of Axent Technologies. At Axent he was responsible for the Identity Management, SSO and multifactor authentication products. Brown is also an avid inventor with 14 filed patents in the security field. He is active in promoting cross industry initiatives and has participated on a number of standards boards.
Brown earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from MCLA and has participated Wharton School of Business Executive Education program.

Mary Ellen Callahan, Chief Privacy Office, U.S. Department of Homeland Security
On March 9, 2009, Mary Ellen Callahan became the Chief Privacy Officer of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Prior to joining the Department, Ms. Callahan specialized in privacy, data security, and consumer protection law as a partner at Hogan & Hartson, LLP, where she worked for more than ten years. She was the Co-Chair of Online Privacy Alliance, a self-regulatory group of corporations and associations established to create an environment of trust and foster the protection of individuals’ privacy online. Ms. Callahan also served as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Privacy and Information Security Committee of the Antitrust Division.
A frequent author and speaker on privacy issues, she was selected in 2008 as a “Band 1” privacy and data security lawyer in the United States by Chambers and Partners. Ms. Callahan holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to law school, Callahan worked at the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress as part of the Special Task Force on the Development of Parliamentary Institutions in Eastern Europe.
The Privacy Office is responsible for privacy compliance across the Department, which includes assuring that the technologies used by the Department to protect the United States sustain, and do not erode, privacy protections relating to the use, collection, and disclosure of personal and Department information. The Privacy Office also has oversight of all privacy policy matters, including compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the Freedom of Information Act of 1966 (as amended), and the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments, as required by the E-Government Act of 2002 and Section 222 of the Homeland Security Act, (as amended). Additionally, Ms. Callahan serves as the Department’s Chief Freedom of Information Act Officer where responsibilities include assuring consistent and appropriate agency-wide statutory compliance and harmonized program and policy implementation.

Kim Cameron, Microsoft
Kim Cameron is Chief Architect of Identity in the Connected Systems Division at Microsoft, where he works on the evolution of Active Directory, Federation Services, Identity Lifecycle Manager, CardSpace and Microsoft's other Identity Metasystem products.
Kim joined Microsoft in 1999 when it bought the ZOOMIT Corporation. As VP of Technology at ZOOMIT, he had invented metadirectory technology and built the first shipping product. Before that he led ZOOMIT's development team in producing a range of SMTP, X.400, X.500, and PKI products.
Kim grew up in Canada, attending King's College at Dalhousie University and l'Université de Montréal. He has won a number of industry awards, including Digital Identity World's Innovation Award (2005), Network Computing's Top 25 Technology Drivers Award (1996) and MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award (2005), Network World's 50 Most Powerful People in Networking (2005), Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing Privacy Award (2007) and Silicon.com's Agenda Setters 2007.

Bob Carter, Consultant, PKI, Encryption & Chip, Identity and Passport Service
Bob is a Consultant who has been engaged by the UK Identity and Passport Service for the past five years advising on their PKI, Encryption and chip strategy and requirements for all UK issued identity documents. This includes the facial Biometric ePassport, the 2nd Biometric (finger image) ePassport, Identity Card for foreign nationals and the UK National ID Card programme.
Bob is the Chairman of the EU Article 6 technical committee, the Brussels Interoperability Group (BIG). BIG evolved the EAC specification and has successfully established EU harmonisation of the specification and through numerous meetings ensured that EU interoperability and testing of EAC developments has been achieved.

Marco Casassa Mont, Senior Research Scientist, HO Labs
Marco Casassa Mont is a senior research scientist at HP Labs. He has worked as a technical lead in various research programs with HP businesses and customers, in the areas of Identity Management, Privacy and Security. As a researcher and technical lead, he has also been involved in and contributed to international collaborative projects, including EU PRIME and UK TSB EnCoRe projects. His current focus is on: Identity and Privacy Management; Security and Identity Analytics, specifically in emerging areas such as Cloud Computing.

Dr. Theo Dimitrakos, Head of Security Architectures Research, BT Innovate.
Dr Theo Dimitrakos is the Head of Security Architectures at the Centre for Information and Security Systems Research, BT Innovation and Design. He has over fifteen years of research and innovation experience in a wide range of topics relating to Cloud Computing, Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services and Grid Computing. He also has strong academic background in security risk analysis, formal modelling and applications of semantics and logic in computer science.
Theo has been the scientific coordinator / technical director of the European research projects including BEinGRID (www.beingrid.eu) the largest collaborative research investment in Europe on IT for Business. He is the chair of the IFIP working group on Trust Management (www.ifip.org), an intercontinental community of experts in trust and reputation systems and a member of an advisory group of ENISA (www.enisa.europa.eu) on Cloud Computing Security Risk Analysis. He has been also steering the product development roadmaps of innovative SMEs in Europe and North America.
He has served at the board of international journals and conferences and he has been an invited speaker in several international events. He has edited five books and authored over forty technical papers and several European and international patents.
Prior to BT, he worked for the UK Research Councils and as an eCommerce and EDI specialist at Logica UK. While at Logica he was involved in the development of EDI systems for Barclays Bank, RBOS and Citibank.
His academic qualifications include a PhD from Imperial College London and a BSc from the University of Crete in Greece.

Gerry Gebel has been with Burton Group more than eight years, covering topics such as authentication, biometrics, federated identity, PKI architecture, identity management, policy based controls, user provisioning, privacy, directory services, and security architecture. Gebel also worked as a Senior Consultant with Burton Group, assisting clients with requirements gathering, architecture development, and strategic planning for identity management projects in Fortune 500 corporations. Prior to Burton Group, Gebel spent 14 years in the financial services industry working on architecture, engineering, integration, and production support of mainframe, client sever and distributed systems.

Stuart Hodkinson, General Manager, UK operations, Courion Corp.
Stuart Hodkinson brings more than 15 years of technology sales and management to his role as general manager, UK operations. In this role, Hodkinson is responsible for developing and managing customer relationships in the region, as well as building strong channel and technology partnerships.
Prior to joining Courion, Hodkinson held various senior software and hardware-focused sales positions with Sun Microsystems, most recently representing the company’s identity management solutions line. Previously, Hodkinson was a sales manager with Fujitsu. Hodkinson has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Loughborough University.

Giles Hogben, Network Security Policy Expert, European Network & Information Security Agency (ENISA)
Giles Hogben works on identifying emerging security risks at ENISA, the European Network and Information Security Agency in Greece. He is currently working on a risk assessment of cloud computing infrastructures. He has published numerous papers on Identity Management, Privacy and the Semantic Web, including most recently a widely cited report on "Privacy Features of European eID Card Specifications". Before joining ENISA, he was a researcher at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, and led work on private credentials in the EU PRIME project (Privacy and Identity Management for Europe), managed by IBM Research, Zurich. He graduated from Oxford University in 1994.

Steve Kille, CEO, Isode
Steve Kille is the CEO of Isode, which he founded in 1992 and re-launched in 2002. Steve is an Internet pioneer and visionary, who has been closely involved with many key Internet technologies since 1980, and has brought several of them to market with Isode.
Steve led the original Isode business of high end messaging and directory server products. Within 5 years Isode grew to 35 staff in offices in the UK and US with revenue of $2M and over 100 customers across 29 countries.
In 1999, he merged Isode to found MessagingDirect. MessagingDirect developed the e-Courier electronic Document Delivery Product using the Isode products. Steve then moved to San Francisco for two years, to build MessagingDirect's US presence and partnerships. MessagingDirect was sold to ACI Worldwide in 2001 and Steve negotiated a deal with ACI to re-launch Isode in 2002.
Steve is a well known speaker and recognized industry visionary. He has twenty years of experience with messaging, directory, security, and e-commerce, and has been responsible for a range of widely deployed products and standards. He has written over forty RFCs (Internet Standards), and is one of the authors of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).
From 1981 to 1992, he was a Senior Research Fellow at University College London and led US and European funded research projects on messaging, directory, networking and distributed systems. He has worked with the Internet and Internet standardization since 1981. He has published a book and numerous papers and articles.
Steve has BA and MA honours degrees in Physics from Oxford University, and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and Stanford University, where he was a Fulbright scholar. He was born in London, where he now lives.

Andreas Kuehne has been active in the IT business since the 1980's. He is the co-founder of Trustable Ltd with many years of consulting experience on enterprise level applications. Andreas has been an OASIS member, participating on several different technical committees since 2000. He has also been a regular industry speaker at conferences. Andreas has initiated and contributed toward many different open source projects.

Herbert Leitold
Herbert Leitold holds a master of telecommunications and informatics. He has been research assistant at Graz University of Technology from 1996 to 2001. In 2001 he changed to the Secure Information Technology Center – Austria (A-SIT) where he manages the technology assessment activities. In 2003 he became board member of the non-profit foundation Stiftung Secure Information and Communication Technologies (SIC). Since 2005 he is also the head of the E-Government Innovation Center (EGIZ) which is a joint initiative of Graz University of Technology and the Austrian Federal Chancellery.
In the area of identity management Herbert contributed to the Austrian Citizen Card project “Bürgerkarte” from its beginning in 2000. He contributes to the EU eID Large Scale Pilot “STORK” where he currently is one of the Member State Council’s co-chairs.

Stephen Lord,

Having moved to France from the UK in 1991, I have been working since then in the Coface group, France’s leading credit insurance and credit management service provider. Initially taking a position as solvency analyst and later working in sales and marketing before becoming information project manager.
Coface together with the German company Creditreform created the EasyNumber solution and established a company in January 2009 to operate and promote the service. I was at that time appointed general manager of EasyNumber Company.

Florin Lupescu, Director, ICT addressing Societal Challenges, Information Society and Media Directorate-General
Mr. Florin Lupescu is currently the director for ICT Addressing Societal Challenges with the Directorate General Information Society and Media of the European Commission.
Until 2009 he was a Minister Counsellor and Director of European Affairs for the Government of Romania.
He previously served as the Counsellor of State for Euro Atlantic Affairs for the Office of the Vice-Prime Minister for Coordination on European Union (EU) Affairs (May 2004 to January 2005), Counsellor of State for EU Affairs and NATO to the President of Romania (January 2001 to May 2004), Consultant for the Convention on the Future of Europe (2002-2003), Counsellor and Director for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania (2000-2001), and Director in the Department for European Integration, Government of Romania (1997-2000). Between 2006 - 2009 he acted as a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration. He was also a coordinator of various EU, UN and UNDP funded projects dedicated to the strengthening of the administrative capacity of different institutions.
Furthermore, Mr. Lupescu is a Visiting Professor at the Department for International Relations and European Studies at the University of Bucharest, and at the International Centre of Euro-regional Research, University of Oradea.

Milan Marković, Independent Researcher, Mathematical Institute SANU
Milan Markovi? received B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 1989, 1992, and 2001, respectively. He is a leading researcher of the Mathematical Institute SANU (MISANU), Belgrade and is currently a lecturer on Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka, Republic Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on privately owned University Apeiron in Banja Luka. for “Secure Computer Networks” and “PKI systems” courses. He also performs different courses on different faculties and universities in the same domain of computer security and PKI. His research interests are mainly in public key infrastructure, combined SW/HW security solutions, smart cards, cryptographic algorithms, Identity Management, Information Security Management Systems, combining authentication and smart payments, Mobile government, Business Continuity Management, implementation of ISMS according to ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard, etc. He has been included in very sophisticated security projects, such as PKI systems for: National Bank of Serbia, some commercial banks, Ministries of Internal and Foreign Affaires, as well as PKI systems for current Serbian smart card ID project. Also, he was a project manager of MISANU in the FP6 project SWEB.

Aaron Martin, Researcher,

Aaron Martin is a late-stage PhD candidate at the London School of Economics, where he is based in the Information Systems and Innovation Group. He researches public perceptions of biometrics, and related privacy and trust issues with the use of biometric technology in national identity systems. He is affiliated with the Future of Identity in the Information Society research project and the Surveillance Studies Network. Anthony Nadalin, Security Architect, Microsoft Corporation
Anthony Nadalin was recently the chief security architect for IBM Software Group. As a Distinguished Engineer, he was responsible for security infrastructure design and development. He serves as the primary security liaison to Sun Microsystems JavaSoft Division for Java security design and development collaboration. Also Anthony serves as the primary security liaison in development of Web Services security specifications to Microsoft. In his 25-year career with IBM, he held the following positions, Lead Security architect for VM/SP, and Security architect for AS/400, Security architect for OS/2. He has also authored and co-authored over forty technical journal and conference articles and published several books on Java Security and the Internet. Anthony is also the co-author and editor of various Web Services security and Web Services specifications.

Søren Peter Nielsen, Danish Ministry of Science
Søren Peter Nielsen works for the Danish Government where he is responsible for cloud and federation architecture and standards in relation to the national it-infrastructure and international initiatives around it-infrastructure standardization and implementation.

Jon Ølne, Senior Researcher, Difi
Jon Ølnes has worked on eID and e-signature issues in Norway and Europe for close to 15 years, lately primarily focussing on trusted validation services. Jon has an M.Sc in informatics from the University of Oslo.
DNV R& I is a division of Det Norske Veritas, an independent foundation offering classification and certification services from offices in more than 100 countries.
Starting from 1st May 2009, Jon will change employer to DIFI, the Norwegian Agency for Public Management and eGovernment. From there, he will continue work in PEPPOL as well as play a role in Norwegian, national eID projects.

Rakesh Radhakrishnan is a Sr. IT Architect in the Communications Market Area of Sun. He has covered Telecom Companies, Network Equipment Providers (NEP), Independent Software Vendors (ISV) and Service Provider accounts in Europe, Canada, USA and Latin America.
He has over 15 years of experience and has an MBA (MIS) and MS (MIT). He is an active member of Customer Engineering Council (CEC) and was the Chairman of a Working Group on Container Alignment Engine (CAE patent received from Europe and US) and STAR at Sun. He also has Defensive Disclosures on Correlated Identity. He has published more than 50 papers on IT Architectures (Frameworks, Process and Techniques) and is a frequent speaker in conferences including ITU, DIDW, OMG, TOG, CMG, IRM, SuperG, SunNetwork, Java ONE, etc. He has led multiple Architecture Workshops and Architecture Assessments for IT Consolidation and Network Identity projects. He was recently featured on Officer Outlook for his work on Aligning Architectural Approaches (Sun's WS-Incite Award for 2005). He is the recipient of the "Above and Beyond" award from the Sun/Nortel team in 2007 and also the "Outstanding Contributor Award" from SEI. He was selected as a "Stellar Volunteer" -amongst 25 such volunteers from Sun Celebrating 25 years.
Rakesh is also Certified by The Open Group (on TOGAF 8), SEI (as a SW Architect) and OGC (Prince 2 and ITIL). He has Green Belt Six Sigma training. He is a ECCSE (Enterprise Computing Certified Systems Engineer -Competency 2000- from Sun ) and as a Systems Architect Pro (from Peoplesoft).
He is the Author of the Book titled "Identity and Security" and is currently working on its sequel "Identity and Policy" (2008).

John T. Sabo, CISSP, Director, Global Government Relations, CA, Inc.
John Sabo is Director, Global Government Relations for CA, Inc., providing expertise in the use of security and privacy technologies in trusted infrastructures.
Mr. Sabo is very active in industry-focused cyber security and critical infrastructure protection initiatives. He is a board member and past President of the Information Technology-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC); member of the IT-Sector Coordinating Council, where he also serves on the Executive Committee; and Immediate Past Chair of the ISAC Council, which addresses cross- sector information sharing issues impacting national critical sectors. Mr. Sabo also serves as a member of the IDtrust Member Section Steering Committee, established by the OASIS standards organization, and focusing on identity and trusted infrastructure technologies, policies, and practices.
Mr. Sabo is also active in information privacy. He is an appointed member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee and is a past member of the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB), a federal advisory committee managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Mr. Sabo has also served as a member of the Privacy and Security Task Force organized by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the State Alliance for e-Health. He is a board member and President of the non-profit International Security Trust and Privacy Alliance (ISTPA), which has published an operational privacy framework and other privacy-related studies. He served as editor and co-author of ISTPA’s “Analysis of Privacy Principles: An Operational Study,” published in 2007.
Before working in the private sector, Mr. Sabo was Director of the U.S. Social Security Administration’s Electronic Services Staff and recognized as a leader in the development of e-government services. He is an invited speaker at international security and privacy conferences, has authored published journal articles, and contributes to technical studies on security, privacy and trust issues. He holds degrees from King’s College (Pennsylvania) and the University of Notre Dame, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Howard A. Schmidt, President, Information Security Forum
Howard A. Schmidt has had a long distinguished career in defense, law enforcement and
corporate security spanning almost 40 years. Howard Schmidt has served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Security Strategist for online auction giant eBay. Howard Schmidt most recently served in the position of Chief Security Strategist for the US CERT Partners Program for the National Cyber Security Division, Department of Homeland Security.
Howard Schmidt retired from the White House after 31 years of public service in local and federal government. He was appointed by President Bush as the Vice Chair of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board and as the Special Advisor for Cyberspace Security for the White House in December 2001. He assumed the role as the Chair in January 2003 until his retirement in May 2003.
Prior to the White House, Howard Schmidt was chief security officer for Microsoft Corp., where his duties included CISO, CSO and forming and directing the Trustworthy Computing Security Strategies Group.
Before Microsoft, Mr. Howard Schmidt was a supervisory special agent and director of the Air
Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Computer Forensic Lab and Computer Crime and Information Warfare Division. While there, he established the first dedicated computer forensic lab in the government.
Before AFOSI, Mr. Howard Schmidt was with the FBI at the National Drug Intelligence Center,
where he headed the Computer Exploitation Team. He is recognized as one of the pioneers in the field of computer forensics and computer evidence collection. Before working at the FBI, Mr. Howard Schmidt was a city police officer from 1983 to 1994 for the Chandler Police Department in Arizona.
Mr. Howard Schmidt served with the U.S. Air Force in various roles from 1967 to 1983, both in active duty and in the civil service. He had served in the Arizona Air National Guard from 1989 until 1998 when he transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves as a Special Agent, Criminal
Investigation Division where he continues to serve. He has testified as an expert witness in
federal and military courts in the areas of computer crime, computer forensics and Internet crime.
Mr. Howard Schmidt had also served as the international president of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and the first president of the Information Technology Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC). He is a former executive board member of the International Organization of Computer Evidence, and served as the co-chairman of the Federal Computer Investigations Committee. He is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Scientists. He serves as an advisory board member for the Technical Research Institute of the National White Collar Crime Center, and was a distinguished special lecturer at the University of New Haven, Conn., teaching a graduate certificate course in forensic computing.
Howard Schmidt served as an augmented member to the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology in the formation of an Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection. He has testified before congressional committees on computer security and cyber crime, and has been instrumental in the creation of public and private partnerships and information-sharing initiatives. He is regularly featured on CNN, CNBC, Fox TV as well as a number of local media outlets talking about cyber-security. He is a co-author of the Black Book on Corporate Security.
Mr. Howard Schmidt has been appointed to the Information Security Privacy Advisory Board
(ISPAB) to advise the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Secretary of
Commerce and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget on information security and privacy issues pertaining to Federal Government information systems, including thorough review of proposed standards and guidelines developed by NIST.
Howard Schmidt holds board positions on a number of corporate boards in both an advisory and director positions and recently has assumed the role as Chairman of the Board for Electronics Lifestyle Integration (ELI).
Mr. Howard Schmidt holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (BSBA) and a master's degree in organizational management (MAOM) from the University of Phoenix. He also holds an Honorary Doctorate degree in Humane Letters. Howard Schmidt is an Adjunct Professor at GA Tech with the GTISC.

Prior to financial services, he worked as the VP of Technology in an entrepreneurial environment at Streamwaves, Inc. where he created a streaming music delivery system responsible for the world's first legal delivery of on-demand subscription streamed music from all 5 major record labels. Sean graduated with honors from University of Texas at Dallas with a B.S. in Business Administration.
