ISSE/SECURE 2007 International Conference
(with Gala Dinner)

Pan-European Conference on Information Security

Client:
eema

Background:
To upgrade the overall level of professionalism of the conference and free up eema resources to focus on their core objectives.

Our Brief:
In 2007, Revolution Events were invited to take over the organisation of three pan-European conferences, previously managed in-house by the eema, the European Association for e-Identity and Security. The first of these events was the Information Security Solutions Europe (ISSE) conference, organised in conjunction with TeleTrusT of Germany and the European Network & Information Security Agency (ENISA, an initiative of the European Commission). In 2007, the event was held in Warsaw, running alongside Poland’s own annual SECURE conference, organised by NASK, the Polish security association.

Results:
The involvement of multiple agencies, significant language barriers and an unfamiliar venue (the University of Warsaw) presented a number of unique challenges for this high-profile project, which also included a Ministerial Address, several awards and a formal gala dinner on the second night. Working closely with the event partners, Revolution were able to secure high-level support from the Polish Ministry of the Interior, who provided the University facilities and funding for several other aspects of the event. The 3-day conference attracted 20 sponsors and nearly 500 delegates across four tracks of international speakers, with almost 300 of these attending the gala dinner at the famous Ujazdowski Castle.

In addition to upgrading the overall level of professionalism of the conference (including increased sponsorship revenues, an electronic registration system and online payment facilities), Revolution’s involvement has also freed up eema resources to focus on their core objectives of raising awareness of the association, increasing the number of members and expanding membership services.
