t-Gov EXPO National & Regional Events (2006-2007)

Client:
Department of Communities & Local Government (previously ODPM).

Objective:
To encourage the widespread adoption of e-enabled technologies within English Local Authorities.  The events needed to provide a forum for exchanging best practice within the public sector and introducing relevant service providers.

Our Brief:
The brief was to run a series of high profile events, with all costs covered by exhibitor & delegate revenues while supporting the objectives above. On the previous year we were also asked to organise a special Celebration Gala Dinner for 400 on the middle night of the large EXPO event in London.

Results:
The 2006/07 events were entirely self-funding, attracting over 1,000 delegates and 100 paying exhibitors (over £700,000 of revenue) over the two events.

Post-event feedback showed exceptional levels of delegate and exhibitor satisfaction, due to high levels of interaction throughout the event. Revolution provided a full ‘turnkey’ event management service including:

  • Event Formulation: including significant input into conference content and relevant themes. 
  • Speakers: recruitment of management of speakers (with other event partners).
  • Delegate Marketing: Collateral design, copywriting, print, production & mailings. 
  • Online Activity: Copywriting & design for website and extensive email activity.
  • Registration: Full pre-event & on-site registration service, including pre-booking up to ten simultaneous delegate streams, taking online payments, invoicing, reconciliation, credit control and fulfilment.
  • Exhibitor Sales: Full responsibility for exhibitor sales to relevant suppliers, including identifying key suppliers, selling benefits, contracting and all invoicing / cash collection.
  • Venue Search: Identifying and booking selected venues and on-going venue liaison.
  • Exhibitor/Venue Logistics: Full electronic Exhibitors Manual produced prior to event, plus form collection, regular exhibitor updates and customer care both pre-event and on-site.
  • On-Site Logistics: Full on-site service, including of the venue both before and during the event, permanently staffed Organisers Office and general management of all catering, signage, accommodation and delegate handouts/collateral.
  • Production & Audio-Visual: Full management of all aspects of the set, slides, sound and speaker requirements, including production of consistent slide templates.

As a direct result of our work on the t-Gov events, Revolution has been awarded several additional government contracts, including the prestigious Beacon Awards organised on behalf of the IDeA.
